Infantry Association

The importance of supporting your military associations cannot be stressed enough. The funds used by these associations in promoting and fighting for the Army National Guard are much needed. Your annual membership will usually also provide some other benefit such as a magazine subscription or social gathering. It is the duty of all soldiers and officers to support these organizations that provide critical legislative support for our units. The below is a list of the associations that are pertinent to the mission of the 3-116th Infantry Regiment.

The National Infantryman's Association was created in 1893 as the Infantry Society, which operated until 1921 when it became the Infantry Association. The Infantry Association remained in operation until mid 1950 when it was merged with other military associations to create the Association of the United States Army. In April of 1982, the Infantry Association was reestablished at Fort Benning and operated as a titular organization for the subscribers of "Infantry" Magazine. The Infantry Association was reviewed and incorporated as the National Infantryman's Association in 1994. For more information please write to National Infantryman's Association, PO Box 52087, Fort Benning, GA 31995-2087.
